Our First Blog Post: The Maker Behind Cute Lil Monkeys

Either by favour or by fluke, you have stumbled upon this blog post; the first blog post published on our brand new Cute Lil Monkeys blog! Cute Lil Monkeys is a small Edmonton and Spruce Grove based store that creates handcrafted newborn clothing, accessories, and necessities.

We thought we would begin by formally introducing you to the remarkable woman behind the Cute Lil Monkeys brand: Leisa Miller.

Leisa is both the sole owner and sole maker at Cute Lil Monkeys. She is the person who spends hours sitting behind a sewing machine, ensuring that every Cute Lil Monkeys product is made with care.

Leisa grew up in Southern Alberta in the small town of Claresholm, where she started sewing at the age of 10. She picked up sewing from her mother who, as a farm mom, sewed clothing for her family.

Before Cute Lil Monkeys came to exist, Leisa owned and operated a consignment store in Stony Plain, Alberta called Lil Rugrats. Her store focused on selling used-baby clothing and products for prices that new moms could afford. While running the store, Leisa continued to create beautiful baby clothing for her children and decided to incorporate her handmade products into the store. With no surprise, her products were a huge hit.

When her fourth child came into her life, Leisa decided to leave Lil Rugrats behind but continued to sell her creations at farmers markets around the Edmonton area.

Now that Leisa’s four children are all grown up, she has decided to make sewing her full-time job by creating beautiful handmade baby products for Cute Lil Monkeys.

Now that you know a little bit about the maker behind our Cute Lil Monkeys products, we thought we should let you know what kind of posts you can expect on the Cute Lil Monkeys blog. Just like our handmade, practical baby products, our Cute Lil Monkey’s blog posts will focus on practical and wholesome advice and resources for moms. This blog is a place that all moms can come to find simple and reliable information, without having to sift through web pages for hours.
